Tailored Films is an award winning film production company based in the heart of Dublin. It was established in 2006 by film degree graduates Ruth Treacy and Julianne Forde. Since then it has built up a strong reputation for creating innovative, engaging and entertaining content for cinema, television and corporate clients.
Tailored Films produced their first award winning Irish Film Board funded feature film ‘Stitches’ in 2012. This was theatrically released in over 100 cinemas in the UK and Ireland before and selling worldwide. After producing Stitches, the company began developing a new slate of feature films funded by the Irish Film Board. Most of these projects are focused on topics which are supernatural, science fiction related or thrillers in theme, however the focus has been on more elevated genre pieces rather than straight horror projects. In 2015 Tailored Films secured funding from the Irish Film Board to produce the artistic short documentary '45' which is currently enjoying a festival run.
Tailored Films have also produced five short form drama TV series for the Young People's Programming department of the Irish national broadcaster RTÉ. These series include the interactive drama ‘Spooky Stakeout’, the mystery drama series 'Miss Mogul', the reality series ‘Life Lessons’ and the 36 part popular comedy series ‘Tim’s Tactical Tips’. The drama series Spooky Stakeout was produced as a feature film in 2016, which was financed by RTE and the sales agency MPI Media Group.
In 2016, Tailored Films produced gothic ghost story The Lodgers, written by David Turpin and directed by Brian O'Malley. The film was funded by the Irish Film Board and Epic Pictures Group and was theatrically released in 23 countries before securing a worldwide rights deal with Netflix. It stars Bill Milner, Charlotte Vega, Eugene Simon and David Bradley. Tailored Films currently has a slate of approximately nine projects in development including five with the Irish Film Board, as well as a number of TV projects. The company focuses on compelling, high end genre projects and is keen to expand its focus further into Europe with a number of co production ideas. Their next film 'The Winter Lake', written by David Turpin, will go into production in September 2018.
Tailored Films' experience in creating high end content for global cinemas means that we are uniquely equipped to produce high quality corporate videos for our clients. We approach all of our corporate projects with the same creativity, innovation, production value and passion for storytelling as we do in our creative endeavours.
The Digital Film School is an initiative of Tailored Films that facilitates training in filmmaking. Workshops for teenagers and adults have been successfully running throughout Dublin since 2005. The Digital Film School coordinates two national youth filmmaking competitions as well as well as running TY workshops nationwide.
Tailored Films employs five full time staff at its busy office located in Dublin, Ireland. For more info on any team member, please click on their profile.
