Directed by 2019's Screen Star of Tomorrow Christopher Andrews in his feature debut, the film is a dark and visceral revenge thriller starring BAFTA winner and Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan alongside Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott, IFTA winner Colm Meaney, 3-time IFTA nominee Nora-Jane Noone, Satellite Award nominee Paul Ready, 3-time IFTA winner Susan Lynch, and Aaron Heffernan. ‘Bring Them Down’ is an Irish-UK-Belgian co-production produced by Tailored Films (Ruth Treacy and Julianne Forde) and Wild Swim (Ivana MacKinnon, Jacob Swan Hyam), and co-produced by Frakas Productions (Jean Yves Roubin, Cassandre Warnauts), VOO et Be tv and Shelter Prod in association with Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán, RTÉ and the UK Global Screen Fund – financed by the UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport and administered by the BFI. Charades also handled international sales for the film. Distributed by Mubi, the film prominently features the Irish language and has garnered a fantastic critical response, premiering at Toronto International Film Festival last September before winning Best Picture at Fantastic Fest, Best Screenplay at Rome Film Festival, the FIPRESCI Prize at the Mannheim-Heidelberg Festival, and the BIFA Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director. The film was also shortlisted for the BAFTAs.
In anticipation of its release, we have spotted dozens of Dublin city buses donning the official 'Bring Them Down' poster - a long-held dream of ours finally come true! Check out the exclusive new clip released by Mubi here.
